Mariel to premiere at Carnegie Hall

The Fort Worth Symphony, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, music director, and cellist Alban Gerhardt will present the world premiere of Osvaldo Golijov's Mariel for cello and orchestra at Carnegie Hall in New York on January 26. The premiere is a new version of Golijov's 1999 work for cello and marimba, originally performed by Maya Beiser and Steve Schick, dedicated to the memory of Mariel Sturbin. The new version has been commissioned by Sid and Mercedes Bass.
